International Conference on Biomedical Ontology
Call for Software
Demonstration Proposals
ICBO
2011 will hold Software Demonstration Sessions which will provide an
opportunity to present working implementations of software that utilizes
ontologies or controlled vocabularies for text mining, experiment annotation, or
data analysis, or for other purposes relevant to biomedical research and
clinical practice. These sessions are intended to provide participants with the
ability to connect with each other and to engage in discussions about their
work.
Submissions/Format
Authors must submit a two-page paper with a short abstract
for evaluation. The abstract must clearly indicate the role of ontologies or
controlled vocabularies. Submissions will be reviewed by members of the program
committee, which is particularly interested in demonstrations of software that
are freely available for others to use. Decisions about acceptance will be
based on originality, potential significance, maturity of the software,
topicality and clarity.
Authors submitting papers or posters
to ICBO 2011 may also submit the same work for consideration in the Software
demonstration session. For software demonstration submissions, authors are
strongly encouraged to include in their submission a link to where the demo
(live or recorded video) can be found.
At
least one of the Software demonstration authors must be a registered
participant at the conference, and attend the Software demonstration session to
present the work. The abstracts for all accepted demos, if they are submitted
in camera ready form before June 10, will be published in the conference proceedings,
which will be made available to all participants at the beginning of the
meeting.
Please submit your contribution to EasyChair at the
following address: https://www.easychair.org/account/signin.cgi?conf=icbo2011.
Software demonstration papers
must be submitted in PDF format, and no other format will be accepted. Papers
that exceed the page limit could be rejected without review.
